MEET THE FOUNDER

Ruka Curate

Ruka Curate is the founder of Pro Newborn Care™, a premier national training program that prepares Newborn Care Specialists through rigorous, science-backed education and real-world readiness. With more than 20 years of hands-on experience working with families through the earliest and most critical stages of infancy, she has built a career defined by expertise, trust, and a deep commitment to elevating the standard of newborn care across the United States.

Ruka holds a formal background in biochemistry and neuroscience, and she built Pro Newborn Care™ because she believed the industry deserved something better. A program where the science is real, the data is accessible, and every student walks away not just with a certificate of completion but genuinely prepared to work. A program where understanding infant physiology is not an afterthought but the foundation, because a great NCS does not just perform tasks. She reads a baby, anticipates a family’s needs, and shows up with the kind of quiet confidence that only comes from truly knowing the work.

She is an experienced ROTA nanny, sleep consultant, and has served as a board director of the International Nanny Association. Her career has taken her into the homes of high-profile and private families across the country, working in demanding, around-the-clock care environments that require both exceptional skill and exceptional discretion. She has placed caregivers with families nationwide through Tiny Treasures Nanny Agency, giving her a clear-eyed understanding of what families actually need and what employers are looking for in a standout NCS.

Pro Newborn Care™ was built with a bridge in mind. For students who are ready, the program creates a direct pathway to real-world experience through Parents First Days™, Ruka’s structured postpartum support program that places trained specialists with families during the first weeks after coming home from the hospital. It is hands-on experience that matters, the kind that jumpstarts careers and gives families the expert support they need most during one of the most vulnerable transitions of their lives.

She is also a mother of two, and brings both professional depth and lived understanding into everything she builds. Her mission is to raise the standard of newborn care nationwide, make the science accessible to everyone willing to learn it, and create meaningful pathways for the next generation of NCS professionals to enter this field with confidence and launch careers they are proud of.
